COLONAS BOATS

Colona Boatphilosophy?

We are committed to take care of our guest and the environment. To be able to do this we found out that owning our own boats is the best way to do it in the Red Sea. The boats are made in the local shipyards. The boats are made in the Swedish / Finnish pine which is considered a very good boat builder timber.

Boat maintanance At Colona Divers, safety is our top priority so each year Colonas' boats go in for full maintenance. The procedure involves removing the boats out of the water at the dry dock and completing repairs and scheduled maintenance. Due to our environmental policies we strive to keep all our boats and operations as environmentally friendly as possible. Waste water tanks are now fitted to all our boats, so no waste goes on to the fragile reefs. We are awaiting the installation of waste water removal pumping stations to be fitted at the harbours to complete the green cycle. Engines are overhauled to ensure the best fuel efficiency and engine oil containment devices are put in place to keep the used oil out of our seas. Wood is replaced yearly and because Egypt is a generally "tree free zone" most wood is imported, Swedish “pine” makes up the hull and hardwood from Africa and Far East make up the body. Add to this the specialist paints that come from a company called Jotun in Norway, you can see that when you dive on a Colona Boat it is truly multinational and uses technology from all over the world. All of this extensive work is carried out by experts with many years of experience and the final touches overseen by our European managers. Safety, quality and attention to detail, is what you get from Colona boats, so you can truly enjoy your next day at sea.
